Our story

A simple desire.
A growing church family.

Living Grace Church grew out of a shared desire among a group of believers in Asheville, North Carolina: a church family built on the grace of Jesus Christ, where people could worship, grow, and serve together in God’s love.

From the start, our congregation has been a welcoming home. We worship in English and in the languages of our Slavic community, Ukrainian and Russian. We are not a church of perfect people. We are people changed by grace: the kind that forgives, heals, restores, and makes all things new.

Everything we do flows from that grace: our worship, our preaching of God’s Word, our prayer for one another, and our desire to share Christ with our city.

Where we’ve been.

In our first year and a half, we saw 37 believers baptized in water, multiple families join our church, and a place to gather provided. Every step has reminded us that this church belongs to God.

Where we’re going.

Our prayer is to keep growing as a community where the lost are found, believers are built up in faith, and the next generation knows Jesus personally in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.

We don’t have decades of history yet. What we have is a living God, His living Word, and His living grace.

Meet our pastor

Mikhail & Alena Tikhonov

Pastor Mikhail and his wife, Alena, lead with a deep love for Christ and a genuine love for the church family. They serve alongside the congregation, caring for people through their words and everyday actions.

Together, they are parents of eight children who actively serve in various ministries. Their heart is for people to feel at home and grow in their relationship with God.
